24/12/2021- III B.SC STUDENTS- HORTICULTURAL VISIT
As a Part of the Curriculum, the Dept. of organized one Day Horticulture Expo visit to III B.SC Biology Students on 24th Dec, 2021. Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Dept. of Botany, accompanied the students. Madam explained the Importance of Horticulture, Floriculture. Today millions of crores business due to this sector. She also explained the need of Indoor gardening, different types of Indoor plants, maintenance, Bonsai technique, Bouquet flowers, preparation of Bouquets, Container types, different type of propagations, Horticultural tools, Fertigation types and pesticides.
Students visited all the stalls and they learned the importance of nursery, gardening and floriculture.

10-12-2021- NATIONAL CHILDRENS SCIENCE CONGRESS - KRISHNA DISTRICT LEVEL
The
Dept. of Botany in collaboration with Krishna District Education organized the DST,
NCSC, Govt. of India, APCOST, Govt. of A.P sponsored Krishna District 29th
National Children Science Congress on 10th Dec, 2021. All the officials
of the Management, DEO, DSO, DYEOS, Guide teachers and 42 selected projects Students attended in this programme.
Mrs.
Kalpalatha Reddy, Teachers MLC and Tehara Sultana, DEO, Krishna Dt inaugurated the programme. Sri. M.
Hussain, DSO, DR. B. Siva Kumari, Sri. Ravi Kumar, DYEO- Vijayawada division
monitored the programme.
Total 42 projects evaluated and 14 projects selected for State Level Competitions. The selected students honored
with medals and certificates. Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Dr. N. Sandhya Sri appointed
as Project Evaluators.
