1.      Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Department of Botany, Invited as Jury Member at District Level Science Seminar Competitions  held at Regional Science Center, Bhavanipurum 17^th September, 2019 organized by the APCOST and  District Education Dept. Krishna, and Andhra Pradesh. 

16/09/2019- World Ozone Day

The Department of  P.G Botany and NSS Unit organized “WORLD OZONE DAY” a a One Day Seminar on 16^th September 2019.

Invited Talk: Dr.Sri Kumar, Dean of Sciences, delivered an invited talk on ozone depletion.

Competitions: On that day poster presentation competitions was held on the topic “THE IMPORTANCE OF NON-OZONE DEPLETING SUBSTANCES IN THE PROTECTION OF OZONE LAYER”. The winners for this competition are Vasavi (NMBY-  19) won the 1^st prize in poster presentation and Durga won the 3^rd prize poster presentation.

04/09/2019  - Field trip

The Department of botany organized a field trip to Tenneru for ll -year degree students. As study of Flora is part of the curriculum in Botany, students were enlightened on different types of plants grown in the garden of Mr.Madhusudhan Rao in Tenneru village by the staff. Different plants includes ornamental, medicinal, avenue commercially useful plants ,vegetable crop plants, exotic plants and endangered plants are grown in the garden . HOD Dr.T.Rose mary, Mrs.S. Sailaja, Ms.J. Swarnalatha Mrs.I. Prasanthi and lab assistant Ramana accompanied the students.  

16-08-19- AMARAVATHI BALOSTUVUM- JURY MEMBER

   Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Department of Botany invited as Jury Member for Amaravathi Balostavum- 2019 at SRR and CVR Government College on 16^th August, 2019, organized by the Amaravathi Balostavum, Krishna Dt in collocation with SRR and CVR Government College, Vijayawada.

29/07/2019- COMMEMORATION OF WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY

 COMMEMORATION OF WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY

The Department of Botany UG and PG organized One day programme in Commemoration of World Nature Conservation Day[28th July] on 29/07/2019. The programme included Guest Lecture, Academic Competitions and Plantation.

INVITED TALK- Dr.P.Brahmaji Rao, Asst. Professor in Environmental Sciences, Acharya Nagarjuna University delivered a talk on Conservation of Nature.

Conservation of Fauna: Mr .M. Sambasiva Rao, forest section officer spoke about the activities of Forest Department in protecting and preserving the Natural, Resources.

Conservation of Natural Resources: Dr. T. Srikumar, Lecturer in Physics of our college enlightened the students about pollution and its effect on plants, animals and human beings.

Essay writing and Poster presentation competitions were organized on the topic Conservation of Nature for both UG and PG students. Prizes were given to the students by the dignitaries. Guests, correspondent, Principal, Vice-principals, Lecturers of Botany Department and Students participated in Plantation programme in the college premises at the end of the day.

    Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Department of Botany delivered an invited talk on Scope of Biology-Future Research at Smt. Kondepati Sarojani Devi Mahila Kalasala (Degree & Pg) (Autonomous), Tanuku organized by the Department of Botany on 12^th July 2019. 

05-06-2019- WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

   Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Department of Botany delivered an invited talk on Save Nature at SVVSM Govt. Municipal High School, Machavarum, Vijayawada on June 5^th June, 2019- on the of World Environment Day.
