11-07-20- NATIONAL WEBINAR

 

The Department of Botany, Andhra Loyola College in  collaboration with Department of Zoology, Maris Stella College, Vijayawada conducted a one day National level Webinar on “GENOMICS OF SARS CORONA VIRUS-2” through GOOGLE MEET app  on 11-07-2020 to create awareness among  the participants about CORONA VIRUS. About 751 registrations were received, 400 participants attended and session was very informative -Certificates are provided for all participants.

25-07-2020- INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR - “PLANTS IN SPACE"

The Department of Botany, Andhra Loyola College conducted a one day International level Webinar on “PLANTS IN SPACE” through GOOGLE MEET app  on 25-07-2020 to create awareness among  the participants about research & development of Plants grown in space. About 657 registrations were received, 400 participants  attended and the session was very informative,E-Certificates are provided for all participants.

Principal, Rev.Fr.G.M.VictorEmmanuel,S.J ,welcomed the gathering.

Mrs .Inampudi Prasanthi, lecturer, Dept. of Botany welcomed the participants & gave introduction of the Webianr. Dr.T.Rose mary,HOD, Botany Department, Andhra Loyola College introduced the Resource person, Dr.Prem kumar Albert Sunderraj, Guest Scientist,  Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Istanbul University, Turkey. Sir gave an excellent presentation regarding PLANTS IN SPACE, after presentation Q & A session was conducted.

28-01-20- ONE DAY- INTERACTIVE SESSION - NEW INNOVATIONS IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES & RESEARCH METHODOLOGY - AN OVER VIEW

The Department of Botany Organized an INTERACTIVE SESSION on " Scope and New Innovations in  Biological Sciences and Research methodology and " for III B.Sc Biology students on 28th January, 2020. Rev. Fr. Y.T. Prabhu, Research Scholar, IICT, Hyd delivered the invited. 

He explained about Advanced research Techniques in Biological Sciences and how to enter into Research after post graduation. Sir also explained about different types funding's sponsored by the Government for strengthening of the research at different levels.

20-01-2020- STUDENT GROUP PROJECT PRESENTATIONS AND INVITED TALK 0N TB ON 25/01/2020

 The Department of Botany organized a one-day Health Awareness programme on Tuberculosis (TB) in collaboration with RNTCP, New GGH, Vijayawada on 25/01-2020. Sri. Uma Maheswar Rao, Senior treatment supervisor, Sri M. Gangadhar, Zonal Coordinator TB Alert India and the staff of Government general hospital, Vijayawada enlightened the students about the causes, symptoms, prevention and cure of T.B.  Brochure and Poster related to TB were launched by Rev.Fr.Dr. M. Sagayaraj, Correspondent,  T. Rosemary, HoD, Dept of Botany & GGH Staff.

 

FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS AND  PRESERVATION

As a part of the curriculum,  the III B.Sc Botany students prepared and displayed their minor  projects  in the Botany lab. Total  15 projects displayed. . All the students  explained their projects Rev. Fr. Principal congratulated all the students.
