28/01/2022- INVITED TALK ON PESTS AND DISEASES ON HORTICULTURAL CROPS AND THEIR MANAGEMENT.


 The Dept. of Botany organized an invited talk on pests and diseases on Horticultural crops and their Management for the  I, III and P.G Students on 28th January, 2022 at 1S-7. All the P.G and U.G faculty and total 150 students participated in this programme.

The programme begin with the words of the welcome by Dr. B. Siva Kumari, HoD Botany, she explained about the importance of the horticultural crops production and protection, different types of skill development programmes in  Horticulture.

The invited speaker Dr. P. Lakshmana Swamy, HoD, Dept. of Agriculture and Rural Development, Maris Stella College delivered a talk on importance of Horticulture, Tissue culture, GDP of Horticulture throughout the world, production and protection of the crops.

Sir well focused on different types of pests and diseases on Horticultural crops and integrated management of the crops.

The students were interacted with the speaker and they clarified the doubts. The programme concluded the with the vote thanks.

25/01/2022- INVITED TALK - CHROMATOGRAPHY TECHNIQUES

 The Dept. of Botany organized an invited talk on  Chromatography Techniques on 25th January, 2022 for the P.G Botany  third and  First B.Sc Students. All the officials, Faculty and Students participated in this programme. 

Rev. FR. Rayappa, Vice Principal of U.G addressed the gathering through online and explained the students regarding the importance of the talk. Dr. B. Siva Kumari, HoD, invited the resource person. The Invited Speaker Rev. Fr. Y.T. Prabu, delivered a talk on Chromatography Techniques and importance of the different types of the Chromatography methods in pharma industry. Total 128 students participated in this programme.

20/01/2022- INVITED AS JURY MEMBER FOR KRISHNA DT MATHS AND SCIENCE OLYMPAID

 Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Dept. of Botany invited as a Jury Member for District Level Maths and Science Olympaid- 2022 on 20th January, 2022 at Bishop Azaraiah Girls High School organized by the Department of Education, Krishna Dt and Samagra Siksha Abhiyan, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. Total  50 Projects displayed on six themes.

06/-1/2022- ORIENTATION CUM EXHIBITION FOR STATE LEVEL SELECTED INSPIRE-MANAK STUDENT PROJECTS


The Department of Botany, Andhra Loyola College in collaboration with Krishna District Education Department organized a  one day Orientation cum Exhibition for the State Level Selected INSPIRE -MANAK- Student Projects on 6th January, 2022 at Andhra Loyola College.

Total 36 selected projects displayed in the Botany Lab.  Selected students and Guide Teachers attended in this programme. Inauguration of the programme held at 10.00 A.M, Rev. Fr. G.A.P. Kishore, Principal, Rev. Fr. P. Anthony, Dept. of Zoology, Rev. Fr. Dr. S. Melchior, Vice- Principal, Rev. Fr. G. Rayappa, Vice- Principal, Mr. M. Hussein, DSO, Krishna Dt, Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Dr. DBK. Kumar, Mr. A. Kantha Rao from Botany, Chemistry and Electronics Depts. respectively, Teachers, and parents participated in this programme. 

The Guests and Resource persons explained the importance and objective of INSPIRE programme, how to prepare the working model and how to present the model  in front of the Judges. Total 100 members participated in this programme.
