The Dept. of Botany organized an invited talk on pests and diseases on Horticultural crops and their Management for the I, III and P.G Students on 28th January, 2022 at 1S-7. All the P.G and U.G faculty and total 150 students participated in this programme.
The programme begin with the words of the welcome by Dr. B. Siva Kumari, HoD Botany, she explained about the importance of the horticultural crops production and protection, different types of skill development programmes in Horticulture.
The invited speaker Dr. P. Lakshmana Swamy, HoD, Dept. of Agriculture and Rural Development, Maris Stella College delivered a talk on importance of Horticulture, Tissue culture, GDP of Horticulture throughout the world, production and protection of the crops. Sir well focused on different types of pests and diseases on horticultural crops and integrated management of the crops. The students were interacted with the speaker and they clarified the doubts. The programme concluded the with the vote thanks.
