The Department of Botany, Andhra Loyola College (Autonomous), Vijayawada, organized a field visit to the ALC Agricultural Lands on 23 October 2026 for First-Year Botany students to provide practical exposure to Plant Pathology.
A total of 20 students, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Ramesh and Dr. Kranthi Kumar, participated in the programme. Students observed various plant disease symptoms, including leaf spots, yellowing, wilting, and leaf deformation. They gained practical knowledge of host–parasite interactions, the effects of pathogens on plant health, and methods of identifying common plant diseases.
The visit helped students understand the importance of early disease identification, crop protection, and preventive disease management. It provided valuable hands-on learning experience by connecting theoretical concepts with real-life agricultural practices.
