Environmental Awareness Programme
The Department of Botany, Andhra Loyola College (Autonomous), Vijayawada, and the Ecology Commission of the Andhra/Telangana Jesuit Province, in collaboration with PM Shri M.K. Baig MCH High School, Ajit Singh Nagar, organized an Environmental Awareness Programme on 6 October 2026 at the school premises. The programme aimed to create awareness about ecological sustainability, biodiversity conservation, tree plantation, and environmental protection.
The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. Hussain, Headmaster, followed by a session on ecological sustainability by Rev. Fr. J. Vijay, Coordinator, Ecology Commission. Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Vice Principal – I U.G., Andhra Loyola College, delivered a motivational talk on biodiversity, its importance, threats, and conservation strategies. The school management, ALC faculty, and Parent Committee members also discussed the importance of planting and protecting trees.
The programme concluded with the distribution of saplings to students and participants. Nearly 200 students, Parent Committee members, school management, and faculty participated in the programme, making it a meaningful initiative towards promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
